I spend the last week trying to figure out a way to cheer up ninja girl, as seeing her run against a wall only to get stuck in a standstill just broke my heart. Her friends are still on vacation and she has no one to share any information with, so it seems her brain might be on overload, as everything that has been happening is stockpiling until they return. This does make me wonder how she ever survives holidays being at home without anyone to share something with. Maybe the ninja family comes together at some point and just spreads all the information they have. Some part of me wanted to just sit down with her, let her share everything with me in a coffee break, but each time I ask she tends to avoid it.
So, I had to find a different solution and trying to figure it out took some time, which is why I had to postpone my writing for another week. The time invested did actually pay off, as I may have found the perfect gift for the invisible chatty girl. It also perfectly coincides with her birthday, so while I had to sacrifice some time to get my hands on it, I think it was worth the wait. What did it turn out to be? Well, I secretly got to wrok a bit earlier than usual and left the present on her desk. Given her love for sharing information, I gave her a microphone that she can use to record something including a guidebook on podcasts. I am rather surprised that girl like her never tried it out, but it seemed like a good idea.
Her reaction was quite worth it, as she managed to combine confusion with a gigantic grin on her face. Thanks to me she probably did not get much work done, but while she was still not as sneaky as she usually is, it was quite fun to see someone appear and disappear with the book in her hands. She was swallowed up by what she was reading and you could hear her mumble some words, as she ghostly walked through the different halls of our office.
That smile was quite worth the effort to find the book, it was surprisingly difficult to get my hands on it, but only due to the delivery constantly getting delayed. It cost me more time just to find out whatever happened to what I ordered than anything else in the end. As the week once again came to an end, I was about to leave for the weekend and on my way out, I suddenly heard a thank you come from behind me. As I turned around no one was there, but I thought it was sweet that she did, even if she still kept her distance from me.
